Save Our NHS in Kent (SONiK) – of which I’m a member – called a protest against the decision of health commissioners to move our stroke unit more than an hour away.
I challenged South Thanet’s current MP, Craig Mackinlay, to raise an oral question on health in Parliament as part of a health debate planned for 23 October. I incited him to ask why Thanet was left out of the options for a new stroke unit and to urge the Government to make additional funding available for a hyper-acute stroke unit in Thanet.
