I’m standing for Parliament because I want South Thanet to thrive.
For autumn 2018, we’re kicking off a series of free public events under the heading of Building a Thriving Thanet.
The first event will be a talk by Neil McInroy, Chief Executive of the Centre for Local Economic Strategies, who will introduce the work he’s been doing to build local wealth in numerous locations around the country. Neil will highlight the role of councils and other institutions in ensuring that goods and services are sourced locally. Putting social justice at the forefront, he will also outline some of the new forms of community organising that are springing up across the UK. This public talk will be at 7pm on Friday 23 November at Broad Street Hall in Ramsgate. Please register for a free ticket here.
The second event in this series will be a public conversation about Thanet’s economic future, covering all aspects of our society including jobs, education and training, housing, transport, food, energy, the environment and the arts. This will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 5 December at Cliftonville Community Centre. Please come and take part in this important conversation by clicking here.
